The CFDA Foundation, Inc. is a separate, not-for-profit organization which raises funds for charitable initiatives and campaigns on behalf of the American fashion industry’s designers. The CFDA’s ongoing philanthropic efforts include Fashion Targets Breast Cancer (FTBC), the fashion industry’s response to the devastating impact of breast cancer; The CFDA-Vogue Initiative, a philanthropic collaboration with Vogue magazine which raises monies for various organizations providing care, services, advocacy, and housing programs for persons living with HIV/AIDS.

Other special charitable projects include:

Yellow/Live Strong: A partnership between CFDA, Nike, and style.com where designers created one of a kind items for an online auction raising funds for the Lance Armstrong Foundation for cancer survivors. (2004)

Fashion For America: Created by the CFDA membership with the support of Vogue, this collective effort of the fashion industry raised funds for relief efforts after the tragic events of 9/11. (2001)
